ROBÖXOTICA
Robots, Cocktails, Party!
Our course "Communication Design" gave us the opporturnity to create a virtual start-up company. A briefing we were given, was regarding a conceptual re-design of the corporate identity of the festival ROBOEXOTICA.
The idea
Storytelling was a very prominent aspect in our start-up group. We decided on creating robots as a form of mascots for the festival. To target different audiences, we developed three robots, each unique and aligned to the three main target groups.
My Role
My task was to make said robots come to life on screen. With illustrating all three of them in ROBOEXOTICAS' corporate colors I equiped them with personalized features in order to make them stand out.
The Process
After sketching for a while the robots began to take shape!
Final Result
RoX
This little robot was created for our younger target audience. It stands for daytime activities and should represent the typical childrens' curiosity. With it's little backpack RoX is prepared for the adventures awaiting it at the festival. Also, its TV-like screen should help RoX express it's emotions way easier.
ROb
RIca
Rob is basically the main character of the whole trio. Personality wise this robot should be represented as being creative and extroverted. I added some rollerskates to give Rob a fun and inviting look. There's also bag filled with crafting utensils to show the robots' creativity.
This robot should stand for the nightlife of Roboexotica. It represents party, cocktails and the passion the tinkerers have for their crafts. I equiped RIca with neon lights and a disco ball. It also has a walk man built into its chest to get the party started.
